More swimmers qualify for Tri-County Championships from Sunnybrook Mako Sharks

Sunnybrook Swim

The Sunnybrook Mako Sharks swim team traveled to the Covered Bridge Swim Club in Cherry Hill for their second A meet of the summer, and went away with a strong victory and with 15 more swimmers qualifying for the Tri-County Championships in August. Sunnybrook won the meet with 311 points to Covered Bridge’s 243.

New Qualifying times for the Tri-County Championship meet included the following swimmers:

Individual Medley (IM)

Shannon Raue (11–12 G) and Jed Fazler (13–14 B)

Freestyle

Julia Pierson (11–12 G), Kaitlyn Levinson (13–14 G), Thomas Trasser (13–14 B) and Madeline Raue (15–18 G).

Backstroke

Leo Hinshilllwood and Alex Yurkewicz (8U B), Isabella Delgado and Isabel Trzeciak (9–10 G), Holly Robinson (11–12 G), Catherine Wilson (15–18 G) and Joe Furze (15–18 B).

Breaststroke

Bethany Trzeciak (8U G), Zachary Abdallah (8U B), Isabella Delgado (9–10 G), Tyler Arthur (9–10 B) and Holly Robinson (11–12 G).

Butterfly

Jordyn Chezem (8U G), Hari Bezwada (8U B), Cade McGrath (9–10 B), Demi Poulathas (11–12 G), Kaitlyn Levinson and Anna Buss (13–14 G) and Madeline Raue (15–18 G).

Sunnybrook now has 38 qualifiers for Tri-County after the first two meets.

Individual Medley

In the 11–12 girls IM, Sunnybrook had the first sweep of the day with Shannon Raue first, Victoria Wilson second and Katerina Poulathas third. For the 11–12 boys, Victor Fazler was second and David Hartshorne third. The 13–14 girls captured the second sweep of the day with Annie Wixted first, Katie Hines second and Anna Buss third in the 100M IM. Thomas Trasser captured second and Jed Fazler placed third in the 13–14 boys IM. Catherine Wilson placed third in the 15–18 girls IM, and Timmy Runfola was first and Joe Furze second in the 15–18 boys 200 M IM.

In the Medley Relays, the following Sunnybrook teams were first:

8 and under girls (Meera Sholevar, Jordyn Chezem, Alex Fazler, Eliana Delgado). 9–10 boys (Ryan Gorman, Cade McGrath, Tyler Arthur, Dylan Bell), 13–14 girls (Tara Thornton, Annabel Gorman, Annie Wixted, Kaitlyn Levinson), and 15–18 boys (Joe Furze, Timmy Runfola, Devin Nielsen, Matt Schaeffer).

Freestyle

In the 25 M 8 and under girls event, Meera Sholevar was first, and Eliana Delgado third. For the 8 and under boys, Hari Bezwada was third. In the 50 M 9–10 girls, Sophia Sapnas was first and Catie Shawaryn was third. For the 9–10 boys, Cade McGrath was second and Ryan Gorman third. Julia Pierson was second and Katerina Poulathas third for the 11–12 girls and Jack Thornton third for the 11–12 boys. The 13–14 girls had the third sweep of the day in the 100 M free, with Tara Thornton first, Kaitlyn Levinson second and Katie Hines third. Thomas Trasser was third for the 13–14 boys, Madeline Raue first for the 15–18 girls, and the 15–18 boys completed the event with Matt Schaeffer first and Devin Nielsen second in the 200 M event.

Backstroke

In the25 M backstroke, Meera Sholevar was first and Alex Fazler second for the 8 and under girls. Alex Yurkewicz was second and Leo Hinshillwood third in the 8 and under boys event. For the 9–10 girls, Isabella Delgado was second and Isabel Trzeciak was third. For the 9–10 boys, Ryan Gorman was second and Dylan Bell third. Holly Robinson was first in the 11–12 girls 50 M backstroke and Victoria Wilson second. For the 11–12 boys, James Santarpio was first and Larry Walker third in the 50 M event. The 13–14 girls claimed the top two spots with Annabel Gorman first and Tara Thornton second, and Peter Kohart second for the 13–14 boys. Catherine Wilson was second in the 15–18 girls 50 M back and Joe Furze first and Matthew Phillips placed second in the 100 M 15–18 boys event.

Breaststroke

Alex Fazler was first and Bethany Trzeciak third for the 8 and under girls in the 25 M breaststroke. Leo Hinshillwood was first and Zachary Abdallah third for the 8 and under boys. Catie Shawaryn was second and Isabella Delgado third for the 9–10 girls breaststroke and Tyler Arthur second for the 9–10 boys. For the 11–12 girls, Shannon Raue placed first and Demi Poulathas third. Patrick Hartshorne was second and Jacob Delgado third for the 11–12 boys 50 M breaststroke. Holly Robinson swam “up” in the 13–14 girls 50 M breaststroke and placed first. Jed Fazler placed first for the 13–14 boys and Rohil Mediratta was third. Annie Wixted swam “up” in the 15–18 girls and placed first, and Daniella Scola was third in the 50 M event. Matt Schaeffer was first and Devin Nielsen second in the 15–18 boys 100 M breaststroke.

Butterfly

Jordyn Chezem was first in the fly for the 8 and under girls and Hari Bezwada third for the 8 and under boys. Sophie Sapnas was second and Hannah Babcock third for the 9–10 girls, and Cade McGrath second and Dylan Bell third for the 9–10 boys. For the 11–12 girls, Demi Poulathas placed first and Julia Pierson second in the 50 M fly. James Santarpio was second for the 11–12 boys. The 13–14 girls swept another event, with Kaitlyn Levinson first, Anna Buss second and Ava Setter third in the 50 M fly. Peter Kohart was second and Kevin Fox third for the 13–14 boys. In the 15–18 girls 50 M fly, Madeline Raue was second and Annabel Gorman, swimming up, was third. Timmy Runfola claimed first for the 15–18 boys in the 50 M event.

Free Relays

Sunnybrook dominated the free relays, winning seven of the 10 events. Winning teams were:

8 and under girls (Meera Sholevar, Eliana Delgado, Jordyn Chezem, Alex Fazler), 9–10 girls (Catie Shawaryn, Isabella Delgado, Molly Zimmerman, Sophia Sapnas), 9–10 boys (Dylan Bell, Tyler Arthur, Ryan Gorman, Cade McGrath), 11–12 girls (Shannon Raue, Victoria Wilson, Julia Pierson, Holly Robinson), 13–14 girls (Annabel Gorman, Kaitlyn Levinson, Tara Thornton, Annie Wixted), 13–14 boys (Peter Kohart, Rohil Mediratta, Kevin Fox, Thomas Trasser) and the final event of the day, the 15–18 boys (Devin Nielsen, Timmy Runfola, Joe Furze, Matt Schaeffer).

The next meet for Sunnybrook is at Kingston Estates in Cherry Hill. Sunnybrook is now at 1–1 in B Division, Tri-County Swimming.
