The Moorestown DeCafe is delighted to open its 23rd season with Steve Katz on Friday, Sept. 25. The co-founder of Blood, Sweat and Tears, Steve’s music history began with studying guitar with Dave Van Ronk and the Reverend Gary Davis in New York City in the early ’60s. He then formed the Even Dozen Jug Band with John Sebastian, David Grisman and others, and started The Blues Project with Al Kooper and others, prior to the founding of BS&T in 1967. The Grammy-award winner has since served as a producer and music executive; his current musical interest is traditional Irish music. His performance will encompass folk, blues, storytelling and original songs.
DeCafe provides a warm coffeehouse environment for great music in an intimate setting surrounded by art. Decafe is held at the Perkins Center for the Arts, 395 Kings Highway.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; concert starts at 8:15 p.m. $20 includes coffee, tea and treats. For tickets, call (856) 235–6488 or visit www.perkinsarts.org.
