Moorestown residents report on water purification project in Cuba March 4

Two Moorestown-area residents, Bill Kelly and Doug Derry, will report on their water purification project in Cuba at this year’s World Day of Prayer event on Friday, March 4, sponsored annually by Church Women United of Moorestown. Light refreshments and conversation at 9:30 a.m. will be followed by the program and prayer service at 10 a.m. The event will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 318 Chester Avenue in Moorestown.

Kelly, a retiree, has recently returned from his 13th trip for the project, and Derry, still professionally employed, has just made his first trip. They are members of the Marlton Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, respectively.

Focus countries for these annual events are selected by an international World Day of Prayer committee, and this year’s theme might have particular interest in light of current discussions between Cuba and the United States.

All are welcome for the refreshment time and program. Parking space is ample in the church lot.
