Those clamoring to celebrate Halloween won’t have to wait until Monday to do so. There are a ton of Halloween-themed events taking place all over the region this weekend, including one in Moorestown. Find out what is happening around the area this weekend.
In Moorestown
- There will be a multi-family yard sale on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 122 Somers Court South & Neighborhood. Items for sale will include double strollers, maternity clothes, infant car seats, books, games, toys, kids clothes, bike trailers, home décor, kitchenware, collectibles, a red leather couch and matching chair, washing machine and other furniture.
- Also on Saturday, Halloween arrives early from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Halloween Spooktacular Parade and Party. The event will take place at 255 E Main Street, and the parade will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. There will also be a costume contest, with the Lutheran Crossings residents as judges for the event. Hang around in Breidenhart Castle, on the front of the campus, for more fun including childrens crafts, candy corn guessing game and light refreshments. Around South Jersey
· There is no shortage of Halloween parades taking place this weekend. One parade will hit the streets of Medford on Saturday night, as the Medford-Vincentown Rotary Club hosts its annual Halloween Parade. The parade begins at 7 p.m. and takes place along Main Street. Hundreds of kids will be dressed in costume. There will also be dozens of decorated floats, marching bands, cheerleaders, firemen and more. The parade is free to attend. · Ghouls and goblins will also be on parade in Palmyra this weekend for the 2016 Palmyra Halloween Parade. The parade begins at 7 p.m. at Riverton School and travel to Legion Field, where prizes will be handed out. There will also be good bags, entertainment and sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A. · Zombies will be running alongside adults and kids of all ages on Saturday in Collingswood at the annual Zombie Chase 5K. The run takes place at Knight Park with registration opening at 7:30 a.m. The cost to register is $25 for the 5K or $5 for the fun run. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female finishers. At the Jersey Shore
· A Halloween tradition is returning to historic Mays Landing on Sunday. Mays Landing’s 62nd annual Halloween Parade will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. The parade will include people in costume, floats, marching bands, football teams, cheerleaders and cub scouts. · Visitors to East Passyunk Avenue will have a “spooktacular” day on Saturday at the East Passyunk Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday. The event will take place at the Tasker and Passyunk Fountain from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some of the activities include pumpkin decorating, a costume contest, trick or treating, live music, a craft show and more. · Over on South Street, all things autumn will be celebrated at the South Street Fall Pumpkin Fest. The festival will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday along South Street between Pine and Lombard streets. The event will include live music, pumpkin decorating, games, straw bale maze, circus performances, magicians, music, horse and wagon hay rides, face painting, costume contests and more.
