The exhibition will run from Oct. 1 to Nov. 26 with an opening reception on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Annual Open Media Juried Exhibition 2017 returned to the Perkins Center for the Arts on Oct. 1 and will run through Nov. 26. An opening reception will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Perkins Center for the Arts’ Moorestown gallery offers regional artists working in variety of mediums opportunities to have their work seen. Perkins’ annual purchase prizes are awarded to artists featured in the photography and works on paper exhibitions. The prizes enable exhibitors to have their work considered for inclusion in public collections.
This year’s juror is Robert Blackson who is the Director of Exhibitions and Public Programs at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. This year’s awarded artists are:
- 1st Place — Stephanie Rogers for “Flying Dream | Interior”
- 2nd Place- Jacob Foster for “Tea Party”
- Third Place — Donna Sensor Thomas for “Achromatic”
- Honorable Mention — Laura Della Franco for “Raku Horsehair Vase”
Curators from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Woodmere Art Museum and Johnson & Johnson Collection select prints from Perkins’ photography exhibition for their institutions’ permanent collections. Curators from the Newark Museum and the Jersey City Museum choose artwork from the center’s works on paper show.
