Letter to the Editor: Peter J. Calleo

Calleo makes his case for the residents of Moorestown to elect Tinamarie Nicolo-Dorfner to Moorestown’s Board of Education.

Most people probably don’t realize that almost 65 percent of our tax bill is used to fund Moorestown’s schools. That’s a lot of money! That tax income is managed by nine members of the Board of Education, and every year, we the people have a chance to elect at least three members on each ballot. When you head into the voting booth this year, I hope you will cast one of your three votes to a self-described mom on a mission, Tinamarie Nicolo-Dorfner.

I have had the privilege of getting to know my dear friend Tinamarie over the last six years, and I can say without a doubt that she is passionate, dedicated and ready to roll up her sleeves to get to work for our schools. Tinamarie is a proud mom of three young kids, a member of the Home & School Association, an involved member of the community and above all a great person! She received her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers in Secondary Education followed by her master’s degree from Rowan in Special Education before going on to found an independent family medical practice with her husband, Scott. In my opinion, her background in education mixed with her real-world experience in running a small business will make her the perfect person to step into the role of Board of Education member come January.

Nothing that Tinamarie does is done half-hearted. If elected, she will serve this town with the type of drive and energy that our school district deserves. She will be a collaborative voice on the board, working with all stakeholders to make sure the best end result is reached. She will make sure that our school district’s incredible reputation is maintained, respect the work of our educators, ensure that parents are involved in the decision-making process and work to increase transparency between the Board and the public.

You have three votes for Board of Education of Moorestown — make them count! Please join me in sending Tinamarie Nicolo-Dorfner to the Board of Education and give our schools — and our kids — the best advocate possible.

Peter J. Calleo, Esq.
