We are writing to express our dismay and disgust at the scabrous full-page paid attack ad published last week in the Sun, attempting to smear Lauren Romano and Jack Fairchild with false and misleading charges.
Anyone with even a grade-school understanding of local government knows the school board has no say in how the township meets its court-mandated COAH requirements; surely the political action committee from MOUNT LAUREL which paid for this ad knows this but wants to mislead budget-conscious Moorestown taxpayers into thinking that Jack and Lauren will cause their property taxes to rise.
It is a disgrace that this PAC and its funders would sink so low as to impune sincere, dedicated citizens seeking to make our town’s schools as good as they can be. The people behind this ad should be ashamed of themselves. Let’s not condone this sort of tactic in our community. We are better than this.
