Police remind residents to lock vehicles, contact department about suspicious activity
The following reports are on file with the Medford Township Police Department:
Medford Township Police responded to a total of 26 unsecured motor vehicle burglaries during the overnight hours between 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, to 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, in addition to one stolen motor vehicle. These incidents took place on Taunton Road, Tallowood Drive, Hampshire Way, Mill Run Court and Branin Road.
The unidentified suspects entered unlocked cars targeting the glove box and center consoles. Proceeds included various amounts of loose money and miscellaneous items. The stolen motor vehicle was taken from Hampshire Way and located by police on Mill Run Court.
Residents are reminded to lock vehicles and contact police if they observe suspicious activity or have information pertaining to this investigation. In the event you were a victim of a burglary, please contact Medford Township Police at (609) 267–8300 to file a police report.
On Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 12:40 p.m., the Medford Township Police and Fire Departments responded to a residence on North Main Street for a reported fire inside of a wall.
It was determined that a plumber was attempting to thaw out a frozen exterior pipe adjacent to the residence with a torch when a portion of the wall caught fire. The fire was extinguished by the fire department and found not to be suspicious in nature and limited to a portion of the exterior wall.
No injuries were reported as a result of this investigation.
