Teenagers looking for a fun way to get in shape for summer should consider joining the Zumba® fitness classes that are being offered by Medford Township’s Recreation Department.
Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that has taken the world by storm. The program blends international music and easy to follow steps to form a fitness-party that is downright addictive. Adding to the program’s appeal is the fact that Zumba is upbeat and fun, the moves are easy to do, and partygoers can burn 500 calories or more in just one class.
During Medford’s teen program, Zumba fitness instructor, Viviana Campanaro, blends traditional Latin rhythms with the fresh beats of hip-hop and reggaeton to appeal to the teens taste in music.
The teen program meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m, beggining the week of April 27. The cost of the six-week program is $45 for both residents and non-residents, which works out to only $3.75 a class.
All classes take place at Lenape High School, which is located at 151 Hartford Road.
