The Medford Education Foundation hosted its Second Annual “Kick Off Summer Family Pool Party and BBQ” on Sunday, June 9 at the Flying W Resort on Fostertown Road in Medford.
At this event, 600 parents, children and educators from the elementary and middle schools in the Medford Township Public School District came together to enjoy an afternoon of food, fun and sun. The event raised more than $10,000 in net profit for Medford Township Public Schools.
The day was filled with sun, fun and music.
Joseph Del Rossi, superintendent of Medford Township Public Schools; David Khanlian, teacher at the Kirby’s Mill Elementary School; Chris Clarke, principal at Allen Elementary School; Kathleen Gigantiello, RN, the school nurse at Allen Elementary School; and Peter Bisconte vice principal at Memorial Middle School each did a turn in the dunk tank to help raise money for the Medford Education Foundation. Students from both the Memorial Middle School Jazz Band and the Haines Sixth Grade Center Jazz Band, under the direction of Jim Sheffer and members of the M-Town Jazz Jam donated their musical talents and provided fabulous entertainment throughout the day.
“This event came together with the support of our teachers, our district families and many local businesses,” said Kristine Adler, chairperson of the event. “The Flying W is a wonderful venue and the staff of the Flying W generously supported both the event and the mission of the Medford Education Foundation, ensuring a wonderful day.”
