It was April 1979 in Atlantic City that my husband and I met. Both of us were freelance violinists playing the gig of the decade at Resorts Casino. Frank Sinatra was the headliner and he brought half of his orchestra from New York City to fill out the Atlantic City local band.
The contractor picked me to “sit with Tony” as my stand partner. When Tony showed up, I thought “Oh, he’s cute!” Tony thought the same about me. That started a romance that is still going strong after 35 years.
He proposed over a romantic dinner in the rustic inn The Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck, N.Y. in the fall of 1979. We were married in December, 1979 right after Tony returned from a European tour with the Detroit Symphony. Our honeymoon was spent in Bermuda doing another great gig with Perry Como. And, 35 years later we are still very much in love.
