The Pinelands Garden Club will be holding a ceremony at the Blue Star Memorial Highway site on Route 70 in Medford at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11.
The Blue Star Memorial Highways began in New Jersey in1944 to honor veterans of World War II. In 1951 changes were made to honor men and women who have served, are serving and will serve in the American Armed Forces.
There are several Blue Star Highways in New Jersey and thousands of miles are across the country. Sites are maintained by garden clubs and state Depart of Transportations.
Directions to the site: Starting at the intersection in Medford of Route 541 and Route 70 head East toward Route 206. Continue through the traffic light at Eayrestown Road. The site is on left just before the traffic light on Chairville and Skeet Roads. It is marked with a blue and white marker and a red ribbon. Parking is at the site.
