According to the Centers for Disease Control, approximately 300,000 people are diagnosed with Lyme Disease each year in the United States. However, Medford resident Libby Majewski has been trying to spread awareness of the impact of the disease at the local level stemming from the 8-year misdiagnosis of her son, Liam.
Burlington County Sheriff’s Department to host Senior Citizen’s Police Academy
Burlington County Undersheriff Bryan Norcross announced that the Sheriff’s department will be conducting its Senior Citizen’s Police Academy on seven consecutive Thursdays beginning on March 9 and running through April 20.
Shawnee High School celebrates Read Across America
On Monday, Feb. 27, Shawnee High School students celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss by participating in the nationwide Read Across America program. Sponsored by the National Education Association, the mission of this program is to promote reading at an early age with the hope that reading becomes a life-long activity.
MTPS Board of Education now using BoardDocs
In an effort to continuously advance technology to the school district’s benefit, Medford Township Public Schools has implemented a new Electronic Board Meeting System called BoardDocs. The system’s use began at the Feb. 27 Board of Education meeting.

Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio Announces First Shred Event of 2017
Burlington County Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced that the first shredding event of 2017 will be held on Sunday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex, located at 22,000 Burlington-Columbus Road in Mansfield.
