Evesham Township promotes use of the Evesham Saving Lives program during upcoming holidays

The program provides Evesham and Voorhees residents free rides home at night from alcohol-serving establishments in the two municipalities.

Evesham Mayor Randy Brown speaks about the Evesham Saving Lives Program at a past press conference.

Residents of Evesham or Voorhees Townships can still receive a free ride home through Uber from any bar or alcohol-serving restaurant in the two municipalities between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2 a.m. thanks to the townships’ Saving Lives Program.

To utilize the Saving Lives Program, residents must download the Uber App onto their smartphone device and follow the steps to activate their account.

To be eligible for the program, residents of Evesham or Voorhees must be at a participating restaurant/bar establishment in either Evesham or Voorhees Townships. The riders destination must also then be their residential address in Evesham or Voorhees.

Step One: To use the program, participants must make sure their location is activated on their phone and then open the Uber App. If needed, riders can then type in their current location, along with their home address in the corresponding space above (Or if one’s location is activated, ensure that is located at the correct establishment one is currently at).

Step Two: Move the slide bar at the bottom over to the Evesham option. If one does not follow this step, they will be charged.

Step Three: Click “Confirm Uber” and wait for the ride to arrive. One can track their driver on the Uber App, and the app will send a notification when their driver has arrived. Sometime the driver will call to announce they have arrived.
