Evesham Township Police Department announces ‘Officer of the Month’ for January 2018

Police say Lt. Brian Rosenberg directed efforts of officers who detained an alleged homicide suspect.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

The Evesham Township Police Department (ETPD) has announced Lt. Brian Rosenberg as the department’s “Officer of the Month” for January 2018. Police say Rosenberg was being commended for his work in directing fellow officers in their efforts to stop the vehicle of an alleged homicide suspect and perform a high risk car stop.

According to police, the incident occurred on Monday, Jan. 29, when ETPD received a call from a Camden County Police Department (CCPD) notifying the department that a person suspected of committing a homicide in CCPD’s jurisdiction was potentially traveling through Evesham.

Police say Rosenberg, along with all available resources, responded to the area the alleged homicide suspect was possibly traveling.

Several minutes later, while still checking the area, police say Rosenberg observed the suspect’s vehicle traveling along Route 70. Rosenberg then broadcast this information to the units on duty and directed their efforts in getting the vehicle stopped and performing a high risk car stop.

The alleged homicide suspect was found to be the driver of the vehicle. Police say he was successfully secured and detained and was turned over appropriate agency.

Police say Rosenberg is being commended for his quick actions during a dangerous situation, his commitment to making the township a safer place and his “thoroughness and vigilance” for ensuring that the suspect was located and taken into custody safely.

Rosenberg has been a member of the ETPD for 18 years.
