As part of the ongoing Evesham Municipal Utilities Authority (EMUA) capital improvement plan, construction to replace the water main on Maple Avenue between Main Street and Arrowhead Drive will begin on Thursday, July 12.
The road will be closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. during repairs.
According to EMUA officials, the EMUA approaches the problem of aging water infrastructure in a few ways, but all involve focused planning for the future to continue to provide essential services to the ratepayers in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.
Comprehensive studies are conducted in order to further optimize the lifespan of utility assets and aid in determining when replacement is needed.
In this case, the EMUA will be replacing 1900 feet of 4 inch cast iron pipe with new 8 inch c900 pipe. This will accommodate a larger water demand and create a more reliable environment for the delivery of potable water.
To contact the EMUA directly regarding this project, e-mail [email protected] and an EMUA representative will contact back.
