A store that has been vacant for the past 15 months might finally have a new tenant, revealed Marlton Economic Development Advisory Committee Chairman Sandy Student last week.
Previously a Pier One and a Fortunoffs, Club Metro USA is going through a permitting process right now to move into the 515 Route 73 S. 16 storefront.
The store is located in the Meadow’s Edge Marketplace in the township.
The marketplace is on Route 73 across the street from the Promenade at Sagemore.
Club Metro USA is a resort style fitness and wellness center, as described on its Web site. This would be the only Club Metro USA gym location in South Jersey, as the nearest location is in Toms River.
It’s about a 15,000 square-foot store, Student said.
The process is in its infancy stages right now, Student said, and a lot could change throughout the permit process.
The Club Metro USA approached the landlord of the store and expressed interest and the two reached a tentative agreement, he said.
There is no price to report because there is no sale or permanent agreement as of yet, Student said, until after the permitting process. It could take anywhere from three to six months.
