If Jessica Woodard is throwing a discus and shot put this well in only her second year of high school, maybe an eraser should be kept handy near the record books next year whenever she’s ready to throw.
The soon to be junior athlete was honored by members of the Evesham Township Council last night for her spectacular sophomore year at Cherokee High School. Woodard was selected as an All American while also taking first place in the discus throw at the Meet of Champions. She also set a state sophomore record with the farthest throw in the state this year.
Mayor Randy Brown said Woodard obviously gets her athletic prowess from her father, Marc Woodard, a former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker in the mid-90s.
“She obviously got her good looks from her mother,” Brown said.
Woodard is currently ranked number one overall in the state in discus and number three in shot put.
