A fire chief gets his due in Evesham Township

Chief Thaddeus “Ted” Lowden was recognized recently by the Burlington County Fire Chief’s Association at the Lenola Fire Company in Moorestown.

Lowden was presented with plaques and a proclamation recognizing his service as both the chairman of the Burlington County Emergency Services Advisory Board and as deputy county fire coordinator of Burlington County.

During his tenure as chairman of the Emergency Services Advisory Board, Lowden spearheaded efforts and coordinated other emergency service department heads from around the county to act as a liaison of the fire service to the board of chosen freeholders; advising the freeholders on matters involving Burlington County central communications, the emergency services training center and the fire science associate’s degree program at Burlington County College.

His work and dedication showed while he served in this position between 2001 and 2010.

One achievement of the emergency services advisory board deserving of mention during this time period was assisting in the planning and construction of the new facility at the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton.

The state Assembly joined the Burlington County Fire Chiefs’ Association in recognizing Lowden for his contributions serving as a deputy fire coordinator during the same time period.

Assemblymen Herb Conaway and Troy Singleton, of the 7th Legislative District of the Assembly, presented Lowden with a proclamation highlighting his service over the last 10 years.

Members of the Chiefs’ Association honored Lowden’s service to the county with a plaque.

Lowden has been and will continue to be an advocate for the fire service and an asset to Evesham Fire-Rescue.
