The Township of Evesham Police Chief Michael Barth, is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Evesham Police Executive Officer, Captain Christopher Chew from the FBI National Academy Program located in Quantico, Virginia.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program held at the FBI Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. Its mission is “to support, promote, and enhance the personal and professional development of law enforcement leaders by preparing them for complex, dynamic, and contemporary challenges through innovative techniques, facilitating excellence in education and research, and forging partnerships throughout the world.”
Training is provided by FBI Academy instructional staff, special agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
Captain Christopher Chew’s successful completion of this training program adds to the collective level of skill and professionalism of the entire Evesham Police Department.
Captain Chew began his career in Evesham Township in 1997 as a patrol officer. He has worked in various sections of the police department including patrol, investigative bureau and Commander of the Office of Professional Standards. His current assignment as executive officer serves as the second highest-ranking officer in the department and exercises direct control over all subordinate personnel subject to the authority of the chief of police.
His educational background includes a Masters Degree in administrative sciences from Farleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelors Degree in criminal justice from Rowan University.
