Evesham Township to run second Citizens Police Academy

The Evesham Township Police Department is seeking participants for the second Citizens Police Academy Class.

As the department strives for transparency in its operations, the Citizens Police Academy provides a hands-on opportunity to educate the citizens of Evesham Township on the operations of the department while obtaining valuable feedback from the citizens to enhance police and community relations.

The Citizens Police Academy will include over 24-hours of instruction taught in three-hour sessions. Participation requires a commitment of three hours, one night a week, for eight weeks.

The training includes classroom courses in crime scenes, a department overview and an officer ride-a-long.

Classes are held every Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., beginning March 5.

Classes are held at the Evesham Township Police Department, located at 984 Tuckerton Road in Marlton.

Interested citizens can apply by contacting Sergeant Ronald Ritter at (856) 983–1116 or [email protected] or Lieutenant Kevin Teschko at (856) 983–1116 or [email protected].

The deadline for application is Feb. 15. Participants must be a resident of Evesham Township, be at least 21 years old, and have no criminal convictions.

A standard background check will be completed.
