Evesham Police thwart alleged burglary attempt at Promenade at Sagemore shopping center

Police say they have arrested an alleged burglary crew from New York.

The following information is from the Evesham Township Police Department:

On Sept. 14 at 3:18 a.m., a patrolling officer from the Evesham Township Police Department conducted a business check in the Promenade at Sagemore Shopping Center, located 500 S. Route 73.

During that check, police say the officer allegedly observed three males on the property, dressed in all black clothing and wearing rubber gloves.

Once the males observed the officer, police say they allegedly fled on foot.

According to police, additional officers responded and established a perimeter in the area the males were observed running.

Police say this action and response from all officers led to the apprehension of the three males and prevented any alleged burglaries to any of the Promenade stores.

Once in custody, officers located the vehicle the men utilized to drive from New York City to Evesham Township, which police say was a allegedly a stolen Mercedes Benz. Inside the vehicle, police allegedly recovered burglary tools and drugs.

Arrested:

A male, age 20, of New York City, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal attempt burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana. He was also a Fugitive from Justice out of New York. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with no bail.

A male, age 19, of New York City, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal attempt burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with no bail.

A male, age 18, of New York City, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal attempt burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools and possession of marijuana. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail with no bail.
