Letter: Plowing County Roads Will End Up Costing More

I wanted to comment on your article on township plowing county roads. I learned some things.

First our taxes will go up just based on what our mayor said, almost like setting us up: “Our goal is not to raise property taxes, we’ll see where it hits.”

Secondly, if public safety is such an issue why can’t we do something to slow down drivers and have traffic signals timed better. All of our traffic jams are man-made because our traffic signals need updating. Maybe the township should take over the traffic signals, being the county can’t seem to get it right.

If public safety was an issue, why are so many drivers on their cell phones and texting and not being stopped. There are very few rules on the roads anymore; no one is that important they can’t put the phone down.

All I am saying is I was trained in safety by the township, have written this mayor many times, and he has never responded to any of my letters or calls. At least Gus did.

By taking on more work and hiring people in the long run it will cost more, just look at home many potholes need to be filled.

Sincerely,

Charles Sanjone
