In Evesham, the biggest threats are due to weather-related events.

Summer is over, the kids are back to school, and fall activities are upon all residents of Evesham. Residents have all been busy the past few days and will continue to be busy in the coming weeks. However, Evesham Fire-Rescue is asking residents to take time and prepare their families for weather emergencies.
September is National Preparedness Month and as a community, residents should be prepared for any storm or other emergency.
The Evesham Township Office of Emergency Management is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive emergency program for Evesham. This plan addresses disaster mitigation, planning and preparedness, response to, and recovery from, large-scale emergencies and disasters that may affect our local area.
The intent of this program is to minimize the impact of disasters, provide necessary disaster operations, and to enable an effective disaster recovery.
The OEM function is the responsibility of the Evesham Fire Department and the Fire Chief is the Emergency Management Coordinator.
The job of the OEM coordinator is to coordinate fire, EMS, police, public works, school, MUA and other public and private resources to prepare for an respond to emergencies.
In Evesham, the biggest threats are due to weather-related events. Heavy rain storms, straight-line winds, and winter snow/ice events have traditionally impacted the township.
While these weather events are short-lived, and flooding water recedes and snow is cleared, sometimes the effects of storms linger on in extended power outages. Extended power outages are a threat to the community, and, the responsibility lies on homeowners to prepare for extended outages.
During large-scale outages, Evesham Township may have to wait for neighborhoods and single customers to be restored, as facilities like hospitals, senior housing, fire and police stations, nursing homes, etc. take precedence for restoration of utilities.
To that point, Evesham Township OEM and the Fire Department are not able to supply generators or oxygen to residents during outages.
The Evesham Township Office of Emergency Management and Evesham Fire-Rescue encourages all residents to have a plan in the event of a weather emergency or power outage. Have a few extra medicines, batteries for flashlights, a spare phone charging cord and portable charging source, and be ready to go to a friend or neighbor’s house in the event of a prolonged outage.
