Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice annual golf tournament fundraiser set for June 26

The “Drive FORE! A Good Cause” tournament will take place a Little Mill Country Club and will held raise funds and awareness for Samaritan.

Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice’s annual golf tournament “Drive FORE! A Good Cause” will take place on Monday, June 26.

The 18-hole scramble-format tournament, held at Little Mill Country Club in Marlton, will have a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. An awards reception and dinner will follow at 4:30 p.m.

Samaritan’s annual golf tournament, presented by The Richardson Family Dealerships, has two important goals: to raise funds and to raise awareness.

Proceeds support Samaritan’s direct care in the South Jersey community to help people to live each day fully and with dignity, even as they cope with issues of aging, serious illness, and grief.

“Samaritan’s not-for-profit mission has been serving our community for 37 years. Supporting Drive FORE! A Good Cause helps us offer additional supportive services to patients and families at a very vulnerable time that wouldn’t otherwise be covered by insurance,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, president and CEO of Samaritan.

Continuing a tournament tradition, golfers are encouraged to participate in the “Dress Loud Contest” by donning golf attire as loud as their inhibitions (and Little Mill’s dress code) permit.

“Each year, people enjoy wearing their most colorful pants, hats, or shirts for a chance to win a prize and bragging rights for the year,” said Samaritan’s Chief Development Officer Chris Rollins. “Others just enjoy watching the variety of outfits. It’s a fun way of helping us loudly ‘drive’ home the message that Samaritan’s Family of Services are here to serve all who need them.”

An entrance fee of $295 includes continental breakfast, lunch, sports shirt, greens fees and cart, refreshments on the golf course, awards dinner reception, and player gift package. The event features hole-in-one contests to win luxury automobiles and other prizes along with mulligans, 50/50 raffles, and various individual and foursome awards. An online auction allows golfers at the tournament, as well as those who are not able to attend, to bid on a variety of noteworthy items.

Sponsorship opportunities are available through June 16. For sponsorship or ticket information, contact Julie Weitzman at (856) 552–3239 or [email protected].
