Eveshamās Board of Education ended its budget work session this week with no clear answer on how the district might fund the $500,000 the township is requiring to keep seven, full-time police officers stationed throughout each of the districtās school buildings next year. Eveshamās council members announced several weeks ago that while council believed in the merits and results of the school resource officer program, the township would no longer be footing theĀ bill.
Lenape Regional High School District adopts final 2017ā2018 school yearĀ budget
The Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education adopted the districtās 2017ā2018 school year budget at this weekās meeting. For an Evesham homeowner with a home assessed at the average value of $269,900, residents will see a regional school tax levy increase of 3.19 cents per every $100 of assessed value, equating to an increase of $86.16 for the year. The budgetās overall tax levy will increase 2.23Ā percent.

On April 21 at 10:51 a.m., the Evesham Police Department responded to the area of Route 73 and Sunbird Drive for a report of a vehicle that drove off the roadway and was submerged into a lake. During the investigation, police say the driver was found to be in possession of heroin and cocaine and was charged with being under the influence of narcotics while operating hisĀ vehicle.

The Evesham Township Public Works department will begin spring leaf collection on Monday, May 1, starting in the southern region of town and working their way through each section of town during the next few weeks.
