Evesham Police stop car for speeding, leads to arrest on charges of possession of cocaine

Police say a search of the vehicle after the stop resulted in the discovery of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The following report is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On June 6 at 9:52 a.m., an Evesham Police officer was conducting speeding enforcement in the area of Elmwood Road when he conducted a motor vehicle stop on a speeding vehicle.

According to police, during the stop the driver was arrested for having an outstanding traffic warrant. In the course of the motor vehicle stop the officer also developed information to make him believe narcotics were inside the vehicle.

Police say a subsequent search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the discovery of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Arrested:

A male, age 39, of Mt. Laurel, was charged with third-degree possession of cocaine and a disorderly persons offense for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana. He was released on his own recognizance.

A female, age 44, of Lumberton, was also arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant and charged with a disorderly persons offense for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of bail.
