Weekly Roundup: Marlton Day returns June 10, summer concerts at Promenade at Sagemore start July 5

Marlton Day on Main Street returns on June 10 to bring together local businesses and the community

The Marlton Business Association’s annual Marlton Day on Main Street returns this year on June 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. As in years past, this free, family friendly event will feature numerous vendors comprised of MBA members, along with food and fun for kids of all ages. Nearly 80 of the association’s member vendors are ready to line Main Street this year, along with five food trucks, blow-up attractions for kids, a K-9 demonstration from the Evesham Police Department and even a motorcycle show hosted by Holman Auto Group, the lead sponsor for this year’s event.

The Promenade at Sagemore in Marlton announces 14th annual Summer Concert Series

The Promenade at Sagemore in Marlton has announced its 14th annual Summer Concert Series running from July 5 to Aug. 30. Every Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., music fans of all ages are invited to enjoy a variety of styles including popular rock and roll, country, blues, and more. All concerts during The Promenade’s Summer Concert Series are free to visitors and will take place in the Center Court.

Evesham Police seeking information to identify alleged eluding motorcyclist

On May 18, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Evesham Police say an officer observed a motorcycle being driven in a reckless manner on the Marlton Pike by Route 70. When the officer attempted to stop the motorcycle, police say the driver fled at a high rate of speed while weaving in and out of traffic. The officer terminated the pursuit due to the public risk that would be caused if continuing the pursuit.

Evesham Police attempting to identify two suspected of stealing firewood from resident’s yard

On May 24, Evesham Police say two unknown male suspects took approximately $125 of firewood from a victim’s yard in the 200 block of Tomlinson Mill Road. Police say an older male was also seen thirty minutes prior to the theft driving a dark green sedan in the victim’s yard.

Seventh-grade students at DeMasi Middle School recently listened to second-generation Holocaust survivor

Seventh-grade teacher David Austin thanks guest speaker Renee Siegel for sharing her mother Helen Rieder’s story of surviving the Holocaust.

Seventh-grade students at DeMasi Middle School recently welcomed guest speaker Renee Siegel, who shared the story of her late mother, Helen Rieder, a Holocaust survivor. DeMasi annually invites a Holocaust survivor to speak to the seventh grade following the students’ social studies/world history unit on the Holocaust and tolerance. The school arranges for speakers through the Raab-Goodwin Holocaust Education Center in Cherry Hill.
