M’kor Shalom’s Social Justice Initiative says its has assembled the event to inform residents of ongoing healthcare legislation.
M’kor Shalom’s Social Justice Initiative says a new health care fight is just around the corner, and the group argues that legislation being considering by Congress would cause 24 million people to lose their insurance, cut Medicaid funding by $893 billion and provide billions in tax cuts to the wealthy.
M’kor Shalom’s Social Justice Initiative has assembled the following experts to inform locals about recent healthcare legislation and explain how those interested can become advocates.
Those scheduled for the event include:
· Robert Field, Professor of Law and Public Health at Drexel, lecturer at Wharton School, (Senior Fellow at Penn Institute for Health Economics);
· Dr. Gene Bishop, Clinical Professor at Penn Medical School, Physicians for a National Health Program
· Evelyn Liebman, associate state director, AARP New Jersey
· Moderator: Joshua Spielberg, chief counsel, Health Care Access Project, Legal Services of New Jersey.
