Four-year-old Marlton boy battles cancer in style after dream for a motorcycle ride becomes reality

Marlton’s Chase Gilchrist, 4, has been battling some form of an anaplastic ependymoma brain cancer from around the time he turned 1 year old, yet Chase’s parents say it’s never slowed him down. Such was the case earlier this week in the parking lot of the Plaza 70 Shopping Center when engines roared and Chase reached one of his long-time goals of getting to ride on a motorcycle. To ensure Chase gets the most out of life, his parents say they’ve adopted the philosophy of helping Chase achieve as many of his fun ideas and dreams as they can.

Community invited to comment on Evesham Police for department’s CALEA re-accreditation’

Members of the public have been invited to comment at a public session on July 31 regarding the work of the Evesham Township Police Department as part of the department’s process to achieve re-accreditation through the national Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. Gaining accreditation through CALEA is a voluntary process by which law enforcement agencies must adhere to hundreds of state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas of police operation.

Evesham Police make arrest after K-9 sniffs out heroin during traffic stop on July 7

On July 7 at 4:20 p.m., an ETPD detective conducted a motor vehicle stop on Brick Road inside the department’s Data-Driven Approaches to Crime and Traffic Safety (DDACTS) zone. During the investigation, police say Evesham Police K-9 EZ was called upon to assist officers with the detection of narcotics. According to police, a subsequent search of the vehicle by officers resulted in the discovery of heroin and hypodermic needles, and officers made an arrest.

Evesham Police say citizen tip leads to surveillance and arrest for alleged heroin distribution

On June 17, Evesham Police detectives and officers observed suspected narcotic activity in the unit block of Gladstone Road during an undercover surveillance detail that police say was ongoing as a result of a tip from a concerned citizen. Police say they two people seized $3,000 in cash.

Evesham Police quickly identify burglary suspects with help of Facebook followers

On July 5, the Evesham Township Police Department reached out to its Facebook followers seeking help in identifying suspects from the accompanying surveillance pictures. Police say the suspects had allegedly stolen a women’s purse from her car in broad daylight and used the victim’s credit cards to purchase gift cards at nearby pharmacies.
