Local Coast Guard Auxiliary donates books to Evesham Library and reads to children
Evesham’s library isn’t near a coast, but it was well-guarded this week when four members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary stopped by to donate about a dozen new books to the library and read a story about the Coast Guard to a group of children. Mike Slepian, Tim Hyde, Mark Rubino and Jerry Goldkrantz of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 1808, Marlton, visited the library on Tuesday this week for the bit of community outreach.
Evesham Police thankful for community support for Second Annual Fallen Heroes Softball Tournament
The Evesham Police Department is thanking the community for its support during the Second Annual Fallen Heroes Softball Tournament on Aug. 27. This event raised money for the survivors of police and firemen who suffer untimely deaths as a result of their service. Police say the tournament also honored local fallen heroes and their families.
Evesham Police accepting applications for Citizen’s Police Academy now through Sept. 15
The Evesham Police Department is accepting applications for the fall 2017 session of the Citizens Police Academy. Session №9 will start on Tuesday, Sept. 26 and run until Nov. 14. Classes will be held at the Evesham Township Municipal Complex each Tuesday night, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for eight weeks.
Girl Talk Marlton mentoring group invites community to help make sandwiches for needy schools
Peanut Butter Jelly Time is back for the Girl Talk Marlton peer mentoring group. At several upcoming events, the group will be making sandwiches with snacks and decorating bags with inspirational notes for the Unforgotten Haven to distribute to schools in the area. Upcoming dates scheduled so far include Wednesdays Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 22 and Dec. 20.
Evesham Township School District releases data on latest self-assessment for anti-bullying
The Evesham Township School District has released figures for its latest self-assessment under the state’s Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act. Per state law, school districts are required to annually assess their implementation of state anti-bullying legislation by using a state rubric to judge 26 key indicators across eight core elements for a period of July 1 through June 30.
