Registration is now open for Girls on the Run, a program taking place at the Katz JCC this fall. The program will run two times per week from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18 for girls in grades three to five.
Girls on the Run is a transformational learning program allowing girls to make new friends, build inner confidence and celebrate what makes them unique. Life skills are taught through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event.
The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. Designed to allow every girl to recognize her inner strength, the Girls on the Run curriculum inspires girls to define their lives on their own terms.
Girls on the Run will take place on Sundays from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. and Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. from Sept. 16 through Nov. 18. The cost is $145 for JCC members and $165 for non-members.
In addition, the JCC is looking for volunteer coaches to help with the program. Anyone who would like to volunteer or wants more information can contact Jayne Miller-Morgan at [email protected] or (856) 424–4444 ext. 1140.
