Today, Mayor Bernie Platt will host Cherry Hill’s annual Memorial Day commemoration. Platt and Town Council members will be joined by American Legion Post 372, Jewish War Veterans Furer-Barag-Wolf Post 126, the region’s elected officials, families of fallen servicemen and women and heroes past and present, including active U.S. Military personnel and their families.
State Sen. Jim Beach will be the event’s keynote speaker. The mayor encourages everyone in the community to join him and Council on this national holiday to pay special tribute to all those who have died in defense of the United States.
The event will take place at the Cherry Hill Township Municipal Building, 820 Mercer St. at 11 a.m.
Before the event at the Municipal Complex, join American Legion Post 372 for services in front of the flagpole at 1532 Martin Ave. The group will then proceed to Locustwood Cemetery for a service at 10 a.m., followed by the township’s ceremony at 11 a.m.
