If you are caring for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related form of dementia, Arden Courts Memory Care Community of Cherry Hill will be having a free seminar to help caregivers learn communication techniques that you can use to improve your relationship and manage challenging behaviors.
During this seminar, Heather McKay, MS, OTR/L, President of Partnerships for Health & Occupational Therapist will discuss:
• The difference between dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and forgetfulness
• Common behavior challenges for persons living with dementia
• Why people living with dementia do the things they do
• Seven key components in a positive, physical approach for dementia caregivers
• Effective communication strategies when interacting with a person with dementia to promote function, have a conversation and manage distress
