Cooper Red Hot Heart Gala raises $1.3 million

The Chairman of the Cooper Board of Trustees, George E. Norcross III, announced that The Cooper Foundation has raised $1.3 million at the Cooper Red Hot Heart Gala — setting the record of raising more than $1 million for the third year in a row at the largest charitable fundraising event in South Jersey.

“We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support for this annual event,” said Norcross, who hosted the Gala with his wife, Sandy. “The generosity of our supporters will help to ensure the long-term growth of the Cooper Heart Institute and Cooper Aortic Center, and benefit the entire South Jersey region by improving access to the high level of care for which Cooper is so well known.”

The Cooper Heart Institute is a comprehensive cardiovascular program that provide advanced non-invasive, invasive, and surgical diagnostic and therapeutic options for

South Jersey. The Cooper Heart Institute has exceptional physician expertise and access to advanced technology that is unique in South Jersey.

The Cooper Aortic Center provides state-of-the-art care through the accurate diagnosis of diseases and conditions that attack the body’s arterial system. Cooper’s vascular and cardiothoracic surgeons are leaders in the endovascular repair of aortic disease and are renowned for their ability to perform complex open surgical procedures.

“The Cooper Heart Institute and the Cooper Aortic Center provide world class care, right here, close to home,” said Susan Bass Levin, President and CEO of the Cooper

Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Cooper continues to be the healthcare leader in the region, complete with our new Cooper Medical School at Rowan University, the new Cooper Cancer Institute set to open this fall, outstanding physicians and nurses, and state of the art medical technology.”

More than 800 people attended the Gala, held at Vie in Philadelphia. Guests enjoyed a red hot silent auction; sizzling entertainment by Jellyroll, fabulous food and a Super 50/50 cash raffle.

The Honorary Co-Chairs for the Gala were Perry J. Weinstock, MD, Director, Cooper

Heart Institute; Michael Rosenbloom, MD, Co-Director, Cooper Heart Institute, and

Harvey Snyder, MD, Cooper Board of Trustees.

Serving as Visionary Co-Chairs were Sal Paolantonio, of Moorestown, National

Correspondent, ESPN; Steve Ravitz, of Cherry Hill, President, Supermarkets of Cherry Hill, and Linda Rohrer, of Haddon Township, President, Rohrer & Sayers Real Estate.
