Local nonprofit Carz ‘N Toyz will hosts their annual Toy Run on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 9 a.m. starting at Café Aldo Lamberti’s, in Cherry Hill. The event will be held rain or shine. Everyone is invited to enjoy a continental breakfast courtesy of Mr. Aldo Lamberti and then join the caravan to deliver the toys to Virtua in Voorhees.
The caravan will feature more than 75 cars from Ferraris to Fords, from Maserati to McLarens, led by the Cherry Hill Police. Upon arrival at Virtua, a human chain of volunteers and donors will unload about 1,200 toys and relay them into the hospital.
At 11:30 a.m. the organization will present a check for $34,717 to the hospital. The funds are earmarked for construction of a new pediatric play zone at Virtua.
“Our supporters tell me they love the Toy Run because it recalls the true spirit of the season and just being there is gratifying,” Carz N Toyz president Saverio Lacroce said. “The toys and games do a lot to help make the hospital experience less stressful for the kids. We thank everyone for their generosity.”
