American Legion Post 372 of Cherry Hill will host a Thanksgiving meal next Thursday for active military personnel.
Reminiscent of years gone by, when busloads of out of state soldiers from Ft. Dix were treated to Thanksgiving Dinner at Americas Best Motel in Cherry Hill, the Cherry Hill community once again has the chance to show its South Jersey hospitality for the active military on Thanksgiving.
On Thanksgiving Day, a warm welcome and a Thanksgiving feast await some state active military men that are unable to be home with their families.
American Legion Post 372 of Cherry Hill will be hosting the Thanksgiving meal and invite local dignitaries, residents, adults and children alike, to gather outside of the Legion in the parking lot to provide a well-deserved and patriotic surprise welcome for them as they arrive for a Thanksgiving meal with their comrades.
Any residents interested in welcoming them in should arrive at the American Legion by 11 a.m.. Bring a flag, a homemade sign and family.
If interested in participating in the motorcycle escort, rally at the CVS parking lot at 600 North Kings Highway in Cherry Hill at 10 a.m. Kick stands go up at about 11 a.m. The escort will pick the men up in Camden and bring them back to the American Legion.
A brief meet and greet period will occur so we may all thank them for their service before they are escorted to the main hall for a homemade Thanksgiving meal with their comrades.
