“The latest forecast is calling for scattered showers Thursday morning. Even the smallest amount of standing water can allow mosquitoes to thrive. All homeowners should check their yard and remove any standing water to help eliminate the threat,” said Camden County Freeholder Jeff Nash, liaison to the Camden County Mosquito Commission. “This simple act can help reduce the pest population in your neighborhood, and assist the efforts of the Camden County Mosquito Control Commission.”

The commission will conduct spraying between 2 to 6 a.m. in the following neighborhoods:

· Overbrook Drive

· Wayne Road

· Media Road

· Bala Road

· Ambler Road

· St. Davids Road

· St Martins Road

· Lenape Road

· Merion Road

· Colwick Road

· Colmar Road

· Kent Road

· Devon Road

· Everett Avenue

· Conter Avenue

· Lewis Avenue

· E Oak Avenue

· James Run

· Appley Court

· Maple Avenue

· Aaron Drive

· Hedy Avenue

· Lloyd Avenue

· Cooper Landing Road

· Mara Court

· Beekman Place

· Rockhill Road

· Garden Avenue

· Fairfax Avenue

· Greydon Avenue

· Pointview Avenue

· Olney Avenue

“The commission works with the Public Health Environmental Laboratories in Trenton to verify the presence of West Nile Virus and other communicable diseases in their samples,” Nash said. “If a pool tests positive, the Mosquito Commission returns to spray the area. The sprayings take place when the mosquitoes are most active.”

Mosquito spray is not harmful to humans or pets. Anyone with respiratory concerns or sensitivity to irritants should avoid direct contact.
