Township residents are invited to attend a historic preservation workshop in council chambers at 111 West Second St. on Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m.
Moorestown officials are interested in a potential historic district that would include commercial properties along Main Street and Chester Avenue. The workshop will provide a basic overview of preservation’s benefits as well as a discussion of proposed boundaries for the new district. Property owners are encouraged to attend.
The public’s feedback will ultimately guide officials as they contemplate an historic preservation ordinance that will mark district boundaries and establish a commission to ensure proposed projects maintain the area’s historic integrity. Following that input, historic preservation initiatives will be considered by council, likely in the coming months.
A question-and-answer period will follow the workshop. Residents are asked to provide feedback via the township’s historic preservation survey at www.tinyurl.com/HistoricMoorestown.
Attendees can join the workshop via Microsoft Teams, and it will be recorded and posted to the township website for anyone who is unable to attend.
