The suspect was charged with two previous robberies at the same gas station and a third robbery at a Lukoil gas station in the township.
Cherry Hill Police have a arrested a man on Sunday after he attempted to rob a Cherry Hill gas station for the third time in less than two weeks.
On Sunday, Nov. 13 at approximately 12:50 p.m., a Cherry Hill police officer noticed a gas attendant from the Citgo Station on Route 38 West running from the business. The officer learned of an attempted robbery at the station and saw a lone male suspect inside a vehicle. The man ignored the officer’s commands to stop. A short motor vehicle pursuit ensued, with the suspect eluding police.
Officers and K9s search the area where the suspect fled and located clothing and the airsoft gun used in the attempted robbery. Police later identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jason Clevenger of Hainesport. He was arrested shortly after the incident at his home.
Clevenger is thought to have committed two other robberies at the same Citgo station on Nov. 4 and 10. He is also believed to have committed a robbery at the Lukoil gas station on Route 70 in Cherry Hill on Nov. 6.
Clevenger was charged with three counts of robbery, three counts of possession of an imitation firearm and eluding arrest. He is also possibly facing charges of robbery in Voorhees, Pennsauken, Haddon Twp., Lawnside and Hamilton.
Clevenger was remanded to the Camden County Jail in default of $250,000 full cash bail. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
