Two lanes closed on portion Haddonfield-Berlin Road during daytime hours through Friday

The lane closures are due to construction taking place between Walt Whitman Boulevard and Cranford Road.

Delays are expected along part of Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Cherry Hill for the rest of this week as emergency construction takes place between Walt Whitman Boulevard and Cranford Road.

The Camden County Department of Public Works is performing emergency repairs on two compromised culverts near the road. The project began on Wednesday morning with two of the four lanes on the road closed. The work is being performed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and is scheduled to last through Friday.

“Motorists need to be mindful of the construction crews working in the roadway and look for alternate routes that bypass this location.” said Camden County Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “Throughout the day, while driving on Route 561, please stay prepared for traffic pattern changes and sudden stops. If you plan on driving through the area give yourself extra time to get to your destination.”

Extra congestion and delays are expected during rush hour traffic in the morning and afternoon. Only one lane in each direction will be open during construction. All lanes will re-open at 4 p.m. each day.

Construction is slated to be finished on Friday, but could be extended depending on weather condition or other variables.
