Cherry Hill Township officials look forward to municipal tax cut
Cherry Hill Township residents could have a reduction in their municipal tax bill in 2018. At Monday’s Cherry Hill Township Council meeting, Mayor Chuck Cahn announced the average Cherry Hill homeowner could expect a reduction of $22 in their municipal tax bill next year. Cherry Hill Township Fiscal Year 2018 budget is expected to be introduced in August.
Cherry Hill Council approves Hampton Road redevelopment plan on first reading
Cherry Hill Township’s proposed redevelopment plan for the Hampton Road redevelopment area was passed on first reading last Monday. The plan, if approved at a second reading and public hearing on July 10, would call for the construction of approximately 300 residential units on 20 acres of land between Hampton Road and Cuthbert Boulevard. A couple residents spoke out against the plan at Monday’s meeting.

Cherry Hill resident Alex Perez was coaching with the Philadelphia Phillies RBI softball program when she was encouraged to try out to be a Phillies ballgirl. What Perez didn’t realize was how fulfilling being a ballgirl would be. Perez loves all aspects of the job, including the community outreach, being on the field during the game and interacting with the fans.
Gas main repairs taking place at intersection of Route 70 and Covered Bridge Road
Last Monday, PSE&G began working on an emergency gas main repair at the intersection of Route 70 and Covered Bridge Road. The repair, which is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete, has closed the intersection to through traffic. The intersection will remain closed, 24 hours a day, until the project is completed.
Erlton Swim Club hoping to set new world record
Erlton Swim Club is asking for help from current and past members to set a new world record in honor of the swim team’s 50th anniversary. Erlton Swim Club will attempt to set the Guinness world record for largest gathering of people dressed as gators on Friday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating is asked to order an official costume for the event by Tuesday, July 4.
