Mantua residents headed to the polls Nov. 7

Voters in Mantua went to the polls on Nov. 7 and elected members of the committee, Mantua Township School District and Clearview Regional boards of education.

The Gloucester County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website. All of the election results are unofficial and will remain unofficial until a vote counting process that could take more than a week has been completed.

The totals as of Nov. 8 do not include late mail-in ballots and provisional ballots, which are expected to be tallied later this week.

In a tight election for a committee position, Democratic incumbent candidate John Legge leads with 2,552 votes over Republican Challenger Candidate Courtney Bracken, who has earned 2,375 as of Nov. 8.

For the Clearview Regional BOE, two seats were up for grabs. Candidates Jeffrey Zayicek received 3,640 votes, and Michele Giaquinto, received 3,646 votes, in the unopposed race for the seats.

For the Mantua Township BOE, three seats were up for grabs as incumbent candidates Lori Kroeger and Butch Burner, and newcomer William Wilkinson lead with 3,071 votes, 2,648 votes and 2,570 votes, respectively. Incumbent Karen Vick has received 2,510 votes.

Each of the winning candidates will be sworn into their new positions in January.
