Sicklerville woman dies in crash with NJ Transit bus

A 50-year-old Sicklerville woman succumbed to her injuries after an early morning crash last week, according to Washington Township police.

Police responded to a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Fries Mill Road and Hurffville Cross Keys Road at approximately 5:08 a.m. on June 20, police said.

The preliminary investigation reveals the woman’s 2005 Lexus SUV was traveling west on Hurffville Cross Keys Road. As the vehicle entered the intersection with Fries Mill Road, a NJ Transit bus was traveling south on Fries Mill Road. The Lexus made contact with the bus in the intersection. The SUV driver was transported to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

The intersection of Fries Mill Road and Hurffville Cross Keys Road was closed for approximately three hours. Members of the Washington Township Ambulance, Inspira Memorial Hospital Paramedics, and Washington Township Fire Department were at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation. If anyone witnessed the crash or has any information that would aid in the investigation, contact Officer John R. Freitag at [email protected] or (856) 589-6650.
