Community garden members advise residents to request for plots

Gardeners have noticed missing produce in recent weeks

CHRISTINE HARKINSON/The Sun: Several gardeners who own plots in the Moorestown community garden have recently noticed missing produce. Those interested in renting plots can contact Carol Ellis by email at [email protected].

For over 40 years, the Moorestown Community Garden has been a township owned property where citizens of our community can grow vegetables and flowers for their own enjoyment.

Each of the plots in the community garden are rented. Our gardeners pay to have the privilege of gardening, when perhaps their own yard is too small, or doesn’t have the proper growing conditions.

In recent weeks, several of our gardeners have noticed missing produce. When one works hard cultivating, planting, nurturing and finally harvesting the fruits of their labor, it’s very disappointing when someone helps themselves, without permission.

The garden is private property. Please, if you do not have a plot, do not help yourself.  If individuals have an interest in renting a plot, please email requests to: Carol Ellis, [email protected]. You will be added to a waitlist and notified when a plot becomes available.
