Moorestown High graduate named Shoreman of the Week

Baseball player Chris Baker receives his third career Shoreman of the Week honor at Washington College.

Special to The Sun: Moorestown High School graduate and baseball player Chris Baker was named Shoreman of the Week at Washington College for the week of March 14 through March 21.

Moorestown native and senior baseball player Chris Baker was named Shoreman of the Week for the week of March 14 through March 21 at Washington College. Baker reached base six times in seven plate appearances in Washington’s doubleheader sweep of Western Connecticut on March 13.

In the 7-1 win in game one, Baker had a bases clearing triple in the top of the second inning to give WC a 4-0 lead and later added an RBI single in the top of the seventh as he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a run scored. In game two, he walked twice and reached on a hit by pitch to reach base all three times as he scored three times and had a stolen base in the 6-0 victory. 

This is Baker’s third career Shoreman of the Week honor.
