RCSJ Season of Giving community project seeking donations

The Season of Giving project encourages RCSJ community members to come together to provide gifts for Gloucester County children in need.

Rowan College of South Jersey’s (RCSJ) Student Government Association (SGA) and the Alpha Psi Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honor society are on a mission to spread some cheer this holiday season. In partnership with the Rowan College Foundation and the Center for People in Transition, the two student organizations will lead RCSJ’s 13th annual Season of Giving virtual donation drive to support local families.

The Season of Giving project encourages RCSJ students, staff, faculty and community members to come together to provide gifts that will make the holiday season a little brighter for Gloucester County children in need. Every dollar donated will go towards the purchase of gifts for 96 local children currently looking to the program for some seasonal cheer.

Donors may also choose to sponsor a grocery store gift card to ensure that the entire household is able to celebrate with a festive family meal.

“We are excited to once again partner up with Rowan College of South Jersey on their annual Season of Giving – every year we help over 30 families with gifts and food for the holidays,” Crystal Noboa, Director of the Center for People in Transition said. “Our mission is to help displaced homemakers achieve self-sufficiency through life-skills training, education or vocational training, advocacy and supportive services. Becoming self-sufficient is a challenging task and having financial support during the holidays puts them one step closer to achieving their goals.”

A $20 dollar donation buys a child’s gift; for a $60 donation a child’s entire wish list can be granted; each $50 dollar donation sponsors a grocery store gift card that will feed the whole family – or donate in any amount you choose.

Join the SGA and PTK in their mission to spread some holiday cheer and visit RCSJ.edu/SeasonOfGiving by Thursday, Dec. 23 to make your donation.
