What better way to spend a fall day than to see a car show?
The Cinnaminson Fire Department will host its second Cars for a Cause event to benefit its Paint the Town Pink fundraising campaign for breast cancer awareness on Sept. 26 at the Mainline shopping center.
The event will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mainline Shopping Center in Cinnaminson, NJ.
The department is in its 11th year raising funds for two local foundations. One is the Virtua Breast Care Comfort Fund, a foundation that helps local breast cancer patients get services and supplies they can’t afford or insurance will not cover.
The other is the Rebecca Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides student financial aid for paramedic training. The scholarship was created in memory of Virtua paramedic Rebecca “Becky” Scott, who died six years ago from breast and liver cancer.
Besides the car show, there will also be a 50/50 raffle, food and music. Participants will have a chance to win more than 60 trophies in various categories, including best paint, best interior and best club participation. Dash plaques will go to the first 150 participants. In the spirit of breast cancer awareness month, there will be a special award for the top pink car.
Registration for Cars for the Cause is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the event. Cars of all makes, models and years are eligible. Chick’s Towing Services of Cinnaminson is a sponsor.
“Holding this car show, along with the one we held in July, has been very exciting for our department.” said fire department Lt. Jim Clancy. “This is also a great way to bring the community together, safely, in a time when we all need some interaction.”
Hours for the fundraiser are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, contact George Ferris at (856) 304-3734.
