Palmyra market back after suspension due to lack of vendors

After facing a summer suspension due to bad weather and a lack of vendors, the Palmyra Farmers Market is back on Thursday evenings.

The weekly, four hour market at Broad Street and Cinnaminson Avenue restarted on Sept. 9. It offers food trucks, local vendors and live music. What began as a small event in the borough grew in size after being well received by consumers and sellers alike.

“The Palmyra Farmers Market has also been described as a community picnic,” said Mindie Weiner, leader of the market’s festivities. She also noted how grateful she is for a “great’’ team that makes the market happen.

The event provides local small businesses the opportunity to sell their products or share their talents. In the past, customers could buy products that ranged from natural skin-care products to fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers. Attendees also enjoy seasonal activities and  products.

The market closed for summer last year because of COVID.

“We didn’t run last year. We were excited to run this year.” Weiner said of summer, then explained how the suspension was caused by bad weather and the lack of enough vendors.

But the Palmyra Farmers Market team has one reason for its passion about  coming back: the community.

Hours for the market are 4 to 8 p.m. In October, there will be a selection of artists, food trucks and entertainers, as well as a fall theme.

If you or someone you know is interested in being a vendor at the market, contact [email protected].
