Moorestown Library Celebrates Library Card Sign-Up Month

Everyone who lives, works, goes to school, or owns property or a business in Moorestown is eligible for a free Moorestown Library card.

Special to The Sun: A Moorestown Library card entitles residents to free services for readers and learners of all ages and interests.

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month! The Moorestown Library is wrapping up an exciting summer full of events for kids and adults and summer reading games with prizes for all ages. Heading into fall, we want to make sure every Moorestonian is armed with a library card to take full advantage of the many resources, services, and programs the library offers, all free of charge. 

Everyone who lives, works, goes to school, or owns property or a business in Moorestown is eligible for a free Moorestown Library card. All students attending Moorestown schools, including preschools and private schools, are entitled to a free library card regardless of residency, and children of any age can get a library card. Help celebrate National Library Card Sign-up Month this September by getting library cards for each member of your household or renewing your expired library card. 

A Moorestown Library card entitles you to a world of free services for readers and learners of all ages and interests. Beyond access to the library’s collection of more than 100,000 books, DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs, the library offers interlibrary loan services; curbside pickup; a variety of special events; museum passes; online learning tools such as LinkedIn Learning and Universal Class; real-time online tutoring through BrainFuse; Ancestry.com many other research databases; the Creativebug collection of instructional crafting, cooking, and baking videos; the Scholastic Teachables database full of learning activity sheets for teachers, homeschoolers, and year-round learners; digital borrowing services for eBooks, audiobooks, and movies, including Hoopla, OverDrive, and Kanopy and so much more. 

Still need more convincing to get a Moorestown Library card? To add to the incentives, the library is pleased to offer everyone who signs up for a new card in September a coupon for a free book at one of our upcoming book sales. In addition, we’ve teamed up with local businesses to offer special discounts and incentives to all cardholders when you show your Moorestown Library card throughout the month of September.

Marrone, Kaye and Yucha Orthodontics – Existing patients: 10 points on your rewards card. New patients: Free t-shirt or water bottle.

Moorestown Hardware – $5 off a $20 purchase OR a free cloth mask

Ralph’s Market – 10% off breakfast or lunch purchase (excludes meat and grocery items)

West Jersey Music Academy – Free 30-minute lesson in piano, violin, ukele, guitar, or voice

To get your library card, simply bring your photo ID and proof of Moorestown residency, school enrollment, employment, or property ownership to the library and complete a short form.
